Why Your Biloxi or Gulfport Business Is Not Showing on Google Maps
If someone in Biloxi or Gulfport types your trade plus 'near me' and you do not appear, the problem is almost never the website alone. It is the Google Business Profile: wrong category, no service area, a duplicate listing, or a page that has not been touched since the last hurricane season.

What the map pack actually uses
Google's local pack is a different contest from the blue links. Distance, relevance, and prominence decide who shows. Prominence is reviews, a complete profile, and a site that matches the listing. Relevance is your primary category and the words on the profile. Distance is whether you serve that ZIP.
A Gautier business can show for Pascagoula work if the service area is honest. A storefront on Highway 90 should say it is a storefront. Mixing those up is how you disappear.
The afternoon checklist
Do this in order. Do not skip the duplicate search.
- Search your exact business name in Chrome while logged out. Open every result. If two listings exist, request a merge before you edit anything else.
- Confirm the primary category. A roofer is not a 'general contractor' first. A counselor is not a 'medical clinic' first. Secondary categories can hold the extras.
- Set the service area to the cities you actually drive — Biloxi, Gulfport, D'Iberville, Ocean Springs, Long Beach — not 'the entire Gulf South.'
- Hours must be true. After a storm, update them the same day you tape the plywood.
- Add photos you took. Storefront, crew, work, team. Stock piers do not help a Harrison County listing.
- Write the description in plain English: city, trade, who you help. No keyword stuffing.
- Turn on messaging only if someone will answer it.
- Ask three recent customers for a review with the short link. One sentence about the work is enough.
What the website has to match
Name, address (or service-area language), phone, and hours on the site must match the profile. If the site says Gautier and the listing says Biloxi, Google trusts neither.
That is why we treat Google as part of the work, not an afterthought. On the Partnership it is in the monthly rhythm. On a one-page site we still set the NAP so they agree.
Next step: The Partnership — $1,000/month.
